Paediatric First Aid Courses

At Happy Feet Childcare we work closely with a specialist childcare First Aid Company called Babyem. They can provide you with a fully comprehensive 1 Day Paediatric First Aid course, as well as advice and the necessary requirements for registration on the Ofsted Voluntary register.

Course Content – Paediatric First Aid Course

This 1 day Ofsted compliant paediatric first aid course is an appropriate course for those wanting to register with Ofsted on the voluntary part of the Childcare Register. It is an Ofsted requirement for any child-carer registered on the Voluntary Register to hold this type of First Aid qualification and have it renewed every 3 years. (Please note this course is not suitable for childminders. As a 12 hour paediatric first aid course is required for childminders).

Babyem’s Paediatric First Aid tutors have over 20 year’s experience working with children, young people and adults.

Paediatric First Aid course content:

  • Planning for first aid
  • Emergencies dealing with emergencies
  • Resuscitation of babies and children
  • Recognising and dealing with shock
  • Anaphylactic shock
  • Electric shock
  • Bleeding burns and scalds
  • Choking fractures
  • Head, neck and back Injuries
  • Poisoning, bites & stings
  • Foreign bodies in eyes, ears and noses eye Injuries
  • Recording accidents & incidents
  • Effects of extreme heat and cold
  • Febrile convulsions, Epilepsy
  • Asthma, sickle cell
  • Diabetes
  • Meningitis
  • Contents of a first aid kit for babies and children
